DEFIBRILLATORS
BAF funded the purchase and funds the maintenance of 7 Automated External Defibrillators (AED) on the BHS Campus, and at Moellering Field for use by the BHS baseball teams. See Locations of the AEDs
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death in the U.S. The single most effective treatment for a SCA is defibrillation, a shock given to the heart with an AED – and the sooner the better – and CPR. Survival rates drop 7-10% every minute without defibrillation.
All of the BHS Coaches, paid and volunteer, are certified in CPR and AED use, and First Aid.
BAF and the BHS Athletic Department have combined their resources to train our coaches for a greatly discounted cost and at hours that meet their busy schedules.
Honoring Greg Brown BHS '74
Greg Brown of the BHS Class of 1974 died on the BHS basketball court of SCA. Consider an important donation to the Greg Brown Memorial Fund, which will help fund the AED and CPR/First Aid program, and other programs that enhance student health and safety.
